ESTABLISHMENT SYNOPSIS OF EDUCATION FACULTY OF BALKH:
Education Faculty of Balkh University was previously known as Pedagogy Institute of Rodaky Balkhi. This institute was founded on 1341 of the Solar Calendar and was temporarily known as the Education Department (Darrul Moalimeen) under the supervision of the education department of Balkh. Later in 1346 of the Solar Calendar, Rodaky Balkhi expanded to 12th-grade classes and the name was then changed to “Basic Education Institute.”
Later in 1348, with the support of the UNESCO organization in the City of Mazar-e Sharif, this institute extended its classes through the college level which constituted to fourteen professional education classes; moreover changing its name, yet, one more time to Higher Education Organization. The institute has fully-completed several graduation rounds and furthermore presented many graduates to the Afghan-Society.
Thenceforth, considering the needs as well as the critical attention paid by the Central Government of the time, an executive order was initiated, stating that the institute must advance to a licensure level.
This must be stated that this institute previously graduated 1,269 professional teachers in Bachelorette level. After the configuration of the institute and 15-rounds of graduation, 936 teachers from the in-service departments in the licensure level and 861 graduates from the pre-service department also in the licensure level whom came from 10-majors and various departments were presented to the society.
NOTE: Finally in 1382 of the Solar Calendar, the Higher Education Ministry saw the need to merge this institute into the curriculum framework of Balkh University and moreover, all educational scholarships and administration of this institute are pursued in accordance to the Rules and Policies accessible.
Likewise, throughout the current academic year of 1387, about 832 students of which include 312 females and 518 males are introduced in pre-service rounds, another 700 in-service students are teaching in elementary schools, and about 200 in-service students are currently working on the Filial Project of District of Balk, while 200 other freshmen students are currently studying in the Samangan Province Education Institute. [Samangan Province Education Institute is an unofficial institute which works under the supervision of the Balkh University which was established in 1387].
Approximately 2000 students are currently studying in various educational departments whom follow the curriculum guidelines of the Education Department. The students’ education is being taught by sixty-two gender-oriented professional and knowledgeable teachers. These teachers not only obtain high scholarly ranks, but are members of scholar teams.
The teachers of the Education Faculty of Balk are very patient and patriotic not only because they teach in pre-service and in-service rounds of education, but also travel about 25-km to participate in the Filial learning process in Balkh District. Additionally, they travel about 150-km to participate in the learning process of Samangan Province Education Institute. These teachers not only bear long distances and tolerate extreme summer heat, but also follow the regular schedule.
NOTE: There are about 20-female instructors.
