Established in 1976, this institute has produced more than 5,870 teachers over the last thirty years—over half of them women. It has outgrown its present site and is looking forward to receiving new buildings in the next few years. Despite the less-than-ideal circumstances, at present, Faryab is an impressive center of teacher training.
One of the things that strike the visitor to Faryab Institute of Higher Education is the sense of order and purpose that is shared by faculty members and students. Tremendous numbers of new teachers will be needed in Faryab and the neighboring provinces over the next few years and this institute intends to do its part in meeting the requirement.
