Kandahar Education Faculty was established in 2001 and got start with 20 male students and 4 lecturers, but now it has 8 female and 211 male students with 25 lecturers in 8 different departments. This faculty consisted of Math, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Pashto Literature, Dari Literature, Islamic Culture and Sports departments.

Education faculty is located in the north of Kandahar city in the Kandahar University it has one study block and boys’ hostel. The Kandahar University has an administration, library and four faculties Medical, Engineering, Agriculture and Education. A new faculty of Islamic Law is going to be the part of the University next year.

The IDT team started its work in Kandahar Education Faculty in 2006. The team has been participating in all HEP workshops for IDT. A member of this team is still in Kabul and studying master programs. HEP formed a PDC in Kandahar Education Faculty which was appreciated by all lectures of faculty and the Rector of the University and they thanked HEP for creating PDC in Kandahar.

The Kandahar PDC Started work in late May, 2008. 19 members of Education faculty have been participating in both Computer and English trainings. The PDC also hosts all pedagogic trainings for the faculty lecturers. The Kandahar Education Faculty is lead by Mr. Abdul Rahman Babai and the Rector of the University is Doctor Hazratmir Totakhil.
